The "San Giacomo 1930" project, an ambitious effort to revive the spirit of the original "Wagristoratore" built in 1930 by the architect
Piero Portaluppi at Passo San Giacomo. This luxury hotel and restaurant aims to offer a unique and sustainable alpine experience, attracting discerning travelers in search of luxury, authenticity, and exceptional gastronomy. The project blends historical inspiration with modern design, promising a high-end destination in a breathtaking location.
The "San Giacomo 1930" project seeks to reinterpret and modernize the bold vision of architect Piero Portaluppi, who in 1930 created the "Wagristoratore" at Passo San Giacomo, in Val Formazza. This unique structure, made up of railway carriages converted into a restaurant and accommodation, was a symbol of innovation and Alpine luxury, unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. Today, its original pillars remain as a testament to an idea that deserves to be reborn.
San Giacomo 1930" will be a luxury hotel and restaurant, located in the same evocative position as the original Wagristoratore, at an altitude of 2318 meters. The design, curated by Interior Designer Michele Anderlini, will be inspired by the original, blending history and modernity, with particular attention to sustainability and
integration into the alpine landscape. Objective: to attract luxury tourism both in summer and winter, offering short stays and a culinary experience of the highest quality, based on local products.
San Giacomo 1930" is not just a construction project, but the rebirth of an icon, a unique opportunity to invest in a sustainable luxury experience in one of the most evocative Alpine settings.
